Spectrometer Calibration Services
Spectrometers drift. Optics degrade, intensity levels shift, and measurement accuracy quietly deteriorates before an error shows up in your data. Verichek’s ISO 17025:2017 certified, ANAB-accredited calibration service puts your OES back on-spec with documented results your quality records can stand behind. On-site or in-house, annual or semiannual.
Why Calibrate Your Spectrometer?
An uncalibrated spectrometer doesn’t fail loudly. It returns results that look plausible until an audit or an alloy rejection reveals the drift. Regular PM/calibration catches intensity shifts, optical degradation, and component wear before they affect your output. The ANAB-accredited certificate we provide documents that your instrument was serviced — and that your results were accurate when they were taken.
Enhance Measurement Accuracy
Ensure your spectrometer delivers reliable, consistent results that meet industry standards.
Extend Equipment Lifespan
Regular maintenance prevents premature wear and keeps your instrument running longer.
Prevent Unexpected Failures
Proactive calibration reduces the risk of costly downtime and emergency repairs.
Our Spectrometer Calibration Process
Every PM/calibration visit is a complete instrument assessment. Our technicians work through each phase systematically, and you receive an ANAB-accredited certificate when the process is complete.

01
Instrument Cleaning
General cleaning inside and outside the instrument to remove contaminants.
02
Light Intensity Test
Measure and evaluate the current light intensity levels.
03
Optical System Polish
Clean and polish the optical system for optimal performance.
04
Intensity Verification
Re-check the light intensities post-cleaning to confirm improvement.
05
Calibration
Calibrate the instrument against certified reference standards.
06
Certification
Affix calibration sticker and generate the service report.
On-Site or In-House — Your Choice
On-Site Calibration
Verichek performs on-site PM/calibration across the United States and Canada on an annual or semiannual basis. Your team watches the full calibration process firsthand. On-site visits can also include training — a refresher for new hires or experienced operators who want a closer look at how the process works.
In-House Calibration
Prefer to ship the instrument? Our ANAB-accredited lab handles in-house calibration with the same documented process and certificate output. Turnaround is coordinated to minimize time out of your lab.
Spectrometer Calibration FAQs
How often should a spectrometer be calibrated?
We recommend at least once a year. Higher usage intensity or harsh environmental conditions may warrant semiannual service. Annual calibration is the baseline for most lab and production-floor instruments.
What does the PM/calibration service include?
General cleaning inside and outside the instrument, light intensity test, optical cleaning and polishing, intensity verification, instrument calibration, and application of a calibration sticker. You receive an ANAB-accredited certificate documenting the service.
Can you calibrate brands other than GNR?
Yes. We service OBLF, Hitachi, GNR, Oxford Instruments, ARL, SpectroPort, Spectro, and other OES brands. Contact us with your instrument make and model to confirm coverage.
What happens after the calibration is complete?
You receive a calibration certificate with documented results and a sticker applied to the instrument. If we identify components requiring repair during the PM, we’ll contact you before proceeding.
